If cuteness could kill...

This evening after putting the kids to bed I was spending some me time on the piano. I thought I would pop up and check on the kids. Kissed a sleeping Edwin goodnight. Kissed a sleeping Joseph goodnight and turned to see Greta up on Joe's desk drawing on his white board. After settling Greta in her own bed (again) and singing her a song, she heaved a great sigh and said,

"It's no use Mom. I just can't sleep without my Grandma and my Grandma (she doesn't have lesbian grandparents, she just forgets there are two names to distinguish them). I just miss them SO much!"

Time for a visit Grandmas and Grandmas B and K! :)

September and this side of October

The past couple of months have flown by so quickly there has been little time for blogging. So here are a some pics to catch you up.

In Sept we took a worldwind trip to Saskatoon to visit Ryan's family. On the way home we spent the night in Banff and enjoyed the scenery and some sushi.

(sushi house in banff... a little train goes around a track and you take whatever plate looks appetizing. we all LOVED it!)

The boys swam in glacier water... crazy!

Edwin lost his first two teeth last month. After a bit of drama he was pleased with the result.

We have a den of garter snakes on our property. The kids love it. My family, not so much.

Here is a picture I took of Greta's room. She has the coolest room in the house.

One side of my walk in closet.

Greta has started ballet and absolutely loves it.

Couldn't resist adding this cute picture of her.

We missed having a birthday part for Joseph back in July and since Edwin's birthday is next month we decided to have a joint party.

There were lots of kids having lots of fun.

Remnants of Summer

Eat your heart out Olivia Newton John!

Well into September we were still heading to the beach everyday.

Auntie Maria bought a kayak this summer and generously shared with her nieces and nephews.

We love our friends!

Maria and I headed out for some early morning skiing. Look at that glassy water.

Before Maria bought her own kayak we got a wicked deal on some rentals because she's so darn hot!

Just this afternoon we were at the beach again. Too cold for mom to swim but the kids loved it.

More Pictures

These pictures are from the listing so they have the original owners stuff in them. But you get the general idea! Above is the stairway.

Our cool REAL wood fireplace that sends the heat through the furnace to heat the whole house. This is the living room.

Media room.

Kitchen, dining room and sitting room. I'm in love with my gas stove.

Upstairs window seat. So dreamy!

Master bedroom ensuite. The shower is ENORMOUS... it has 2 shower heads and 2 body sprayers.

Master bedroom. The owners gave us the mirror and candle sconces seen in this picture.

Kids bathroom.

Edwin's bedroom... they gave us this gorgeous antique bed.

Joseph's bedroom.

Upstairs hallway.

I look out the window at the lake all day. We are on a quiet cul de sac with great neighbors. It already feels like home.

I don't have pictures of Greta's bedroom yet. We will post more when I get around to it. :) It's even better in real life so everyone should come for a visit.

All moved in.

Life is good. Seems like we've hit the final milestone in our own lives and can now enjoy those of our children.

Everything is pretty much put away and very few boxes remain (for those of you that know Sharon this'll come as no surprise)

'J'inormous July

This past month has flown by so quickly.

The biggest news is that Joseph turned 9!!!! Grandma and Grandpa Kilistoff were here to celebrate Joe's special day with us. We hiked Bluenose, had a wiener roast at Ellison and then the boys and grandparents went to see Transformers.

We went to Langley for a temple trip and aquarium visit.

My favorite was the 4D theater. Greta hated it and hid in my shoulder until it was over.

Summer has finally arrived and we have spent almost everyday at the beach.

My sister Sarah throwing up a pretty good rooster tail.

Ryan wake boarding.

My parents had some time off and came for a visit. Dad spent the majority of his time felling dead trees in the yard. They would tie a rope around the branch and Mom would pull the direction they wanted the branch to fall while Dad played with the chainsaw.

Note the power lines we were trying to avoid.

Edwin and I took turns as well.

All done without anyone being electrocuted or smashing the new cherry tree.

Over the month of July we had 22 visitors! It's been a busy and fun month.
