Greta is 4!!!!!

Four years ago our precious, pink treasure joined our family!

Greta is a treasure! She lights up any rooms she enters. She loves people and they love her. Greta has a gift for making people feel loved and happy.

This year, Greta decided she wanted a purple dinosaur cake. A lot different than the mermaid cake from last year.

The day of her birthday was a quiet affair. After swimming lessons we had Thai then opened presents, sang and ate cake.

On Sunday we had the local cousins, aunts and uncles over for dinner. Greta's cousin's birthday is the day after hers. So we combined celebrations.

The two birthday girls prepare to blow out the candle. My brother James had a birthday last month but we didn't get to celebrate with him because he was in Hawaii. That's why he has a flower cupcake and candle too. :)

Greta has been asking for an Ariel barbie FOREVER...

her awesome aunts granted her wish.

Happy birthday my sweet, joyful, fun, smart, kind gentle, sensitive, funny little girl. We love you!

Smatterings of Spring

Greta completed another semester of Ballet. Ms. Linda is amazing and Greta blossoms under her tutelage.

During Spring Break we headed to Salmon Arm with some friends and played at Jungle Mania.

We also spent some time at the Science Center exploring the Living in Space Exhibit.

Greta pins a new picture on the fridge almost everyday.

When Greta's friend comes for a playdate this is the kind of lunch they want.

Greta's new favorite place to play.

So adorable! These two have a love/hate relationship. One minute Greta will tell me that Edwin is her favorite hero and the next they are at each others throats.

Last weekend, Edwin, Greta, Auntie Ardie and I headed to the coast to visit my parents for Easter. We went down to Derby Park for a wiener roast. Edwin keep the supply of kindling stocked.

Some of us are roasting wieners while Edwin heads right for the marshmallows
.

We had a little egg hunt along the trail.

Then we played a rousing game of Sardines. Mom could usually be found nestled into the decaying crook of a fallen tree. None of us were dressed appropriately for such antics. :)

Cheesy grins.

On Saturday we met up with Ryan's Grandma for lunch.

Then we headed to Granville Island. This is what Edwin thinks of roasted chestnuts.

After that we headed out to UBC to catch a track and field event that a friend of Ardie's was running in. (he's in the white tank top and blue shorts on the far left.) It was really fun. Edwin has decided he wants to be a javelin thrower.

Ardie and I took Mom on a shopping spree and here is one of the outfits she got. What a classy lady!

Greta got a new Easter dress too!

Monday we headed out to Ellison for our annual Easter Egg Hunt. The weather was gorgeous, the company incomparable, and the eats were.... well they were wieners so, that's all that can be said of that.

I really need to get some new sunglasses.:)

Can you tell we are related?
